Register and manage domains

DNS hosting and domain registration are separate services. A domain can stay with its current registrar while you host its DNS in echo reply, and a registrar transfer does not have to change its nameservers. See the DNS migration guide before changing delegation.

Search and register a domain

  1. Open Register New and search for a full name such as example.dk, or enter a name and choose one of the displayed endings.
  2. Review availability and the current price shown for the domain. Availability can change before checkout, and the final quote and registrar requirements are shown in the registration flow.
  3. Choose the organisation that will own the registration. Enter and check the registrant details requested for that domain.
  4. Review the total and the terms shown in the flow. If payment is required, complete it through the checkout page.
  5. Return to Registered Domains and follow the transaction status. Some registrations need additional action from the registrant or registrar, so a submitted order is not the same as an active domain.

The flow offers DNS-zone creation when supported. A registered domain’s own zone includes DNS hosting and does not use the organisation’s regular zone allowance. You can also create or link a zone later from the registration details.

Transfer a domain

Open Transfer and select the direction:

  • Transfer In moves registration management from another registrar to echo reply. Make sure the domain is eligible, and obtain the transfer authorisation code from the current registrar if the flow requests one.
  • Transfer Out moves a registration away from echo reply. The wizard shows the actions available for that domain, such as changing its transfer lock or requesting an authorisation code. Share that code only with the registrar receiving the transfer.

The wizard displays provider-specific requirements, current pricing where applicable, and the transaction status. Transfer rules and timing vary by registry and registrar. Keep the existing DNS service in place unless you intend to move it too; changing registrar does not by itself change the nameserver delegation.

Manage registered domains

Open Registered Domains to search and filter registrations by status, or use the Expiring Soon and Assisted Renewal tabs. Open a domain to review its status, expiry, registration details and available actions. Depending on your permissions and the domain, you may be able to:

  • update registrant or nameserver details
  • lock or unlock the domain for transfers
  • create or open its DNS zone
  • request an eligible renewal through checkout
  • review the transaction history

Where offered, Assisted Renewal prepares and emails a checkout link ahead of expiry; it does not charge a saved card or renew the domain without payment. Check the expiry date and current renewal quote in the application, and make sure the organisation’s billing contact can receive renewal notices.

If a transaction is pending or fails

Use the status and details shown for that transaction in the application. Do not repeat a payment or transfer just because the page has not updated yet. If the status remains unclear, contact support@echo-reply.net with the domain and transaction reference. Do not include an authorisation code or payment details in an ordinary support email.
